Learn more about the Philips HeartStart HS1
The package consists of a Philips defibrillator, world leader in defibs. The Philips HeartStart HS1 defibrillator is designed for the ordinary person in the extraordinary moment, it is ready to act and virtually ready to go. It allows anyone with little or no training to treat the most common cause of suspected sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) by delivering a shock quickly and effectively, wherever SCA happens.
The HS1 defibrillator provides practically real-time guidance through step-by-step voice commands from pad placement to performing CPR. When every minute counts, Philips HeartStart HS1 defibrillator is the partner by your side. Side by side. Step by step.
Key features:
* Daily self-tests: checks all electrical components, subsystems and battery
* Patented Quick Shock: the HS1 is the fastest in class at delivering shock treatment after CPR (within 8.1 sec)
* Clear voice instructions including CPR coaching: voice instructions are paced precisely to your actions
* SMART electrode pads recognise when they have been removed from the cartridge
* SMART Analysis technology for heart rhythm assessment
* SMART Biphasic technology for defibrillation energy delivery
* Small and light weight (1.5 kg)
* Battery life: minimum of 4 years stand-by
* Electrodes/pads life: 2 years
* Warranty: 8 years
Ready to act. Ready to go.
Easy as 1-2-3
Start quickly. Treat confidently.
Quick shock
Charging the HeartStart HS1 is extremely fast: the "Quick Shock" technology ensures that you can deliver the electric shock within 8.1 seconds. Because of this speed, the blood pressure obtained by the chest compressions falls less than with slower defibs. A higher blood pressure at that crucial moment increases the chance of a successful defibrillation.
Management
The Philips HS1 defibrillator checks itself every day. Conducts a series of automatic self-tests daily, weekly and monthly, to check pad readiness and verify functionality and calibration of circuits and systems.
- The Pads: presence and operation/quality of the pads
- The Battery: remaining energy supply. Because this is tested daily, there is the assurance that the defib will work at that one moment when every second counts. The Philips HS1 does not require maintenance in the form of a technician. However, the electrode cassette must be replaced every 2 years and the battery every 4 to 5 years.
- The pads in the electrode cassette are provided with contact gel. And although pads are vacuum packed to prevent dehydration, this gel will dry out over time. There is an expiration date on the front of the pads. The pads must be replaced before this date.
- The battery has a guaranteed life of at least 4 years. Because the defib does self-testing, you can wait to replace the battery until the defib reports “battery low”. If the defib gives this message, the defib can still be used. The Philips HS1 has a spare capacity in the battery, which can still be used to give “shocks”.
